There are several user groups defined within this MediaWiki instance. Some of them are predefined groups, some of them have been defined for the SmartHubs project. Every user can be part of several groups. The following table lists the relevant groups for permission management:

Group Relevant Permissions
Bureaucrats

These project members are the only ones who can change group memberships for other users. They can elevate self-registered users to project members or project members to administrators or even bureaucrats.

List members
  • Edit all user rights (userrights)
Administrators

Project members in this list are responsible to create accounts for other project members and have some other advanced rights.

List members
  • Edit hub property definitions (e.g. Modes) (sh-property-edit)
  • Create new user accounts (createaccount)
  • Edit the user interface (editinterface)
Editors

Project members who are responsible for one ore more of the project's case studies or contributing learning cases.

People in this group should be listed on the Editors page and should be affiliated to one of the SmartHubs project's Partners.

Only project members will see the “internal” menu item in the navigation.
